Always having a passion for the arts, Dee pursued an artistic career in hairstyling. This appealed to her practical side while still empowering her to tap into her otherwise dormant vein of creativity. She owns and operates her own business which has turned into a thirty year venture that has been both exciting and rewarding.

Although, continuing to draw and dabble in different mediums of art, a more serious pursuit began about five years ago. The start up cost of learning a whole new art medium kept her from learning oil painting. Though the desire to learn the medium was there, the means were not.

One day, the wall between her and oil painting was torn down when she found an unused oil painting kit at a yard sale for only three dollars. This was the opportunity she was waiting for.

Her property, where her husband exercises his master gardening skills, gives her plenty of inspiration to work from. With the beautiful gardens and its variety of flowers that bloom throughout the spring and summer give her endless ideas for her work.  She also enjoys shopping in antique stores and yard sales around New England for interesting things that might look nice in one of her paintings. Although, most of her works are still life paintings, she also loves to paint portraits, animals and landscapes.
